Trying to stop emotional eating I'm new here
Hi Dogdays11 ,
Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. It's great that you've joined us, and it's great that you've got your son's Wedding in Australia as an event to work towards - good luck with your plans to lose weight before then - just pace yourself - you've already lost 5 pounds, that's great!
If you'd like some support, I would recommend looking at the Topics here in the Healthy eating forum, but also maybe joining the NHS weight loss forum too - it's another forum in Healthunlocked, and they have regular weigh-ins and other really motivating events going on - if you'd like to have a look, here is a link:

The NHS 12 week plan is a good one, and worth a look.

Look up restrictive eating which may help you.
I prefer restricting my eating window, so have a shorter eating time each day, Some people prefer to restrict calories 2 days a week, or alternate days. I've written a few posts about the benefits which are greater than weight loss.
I also find having healthy snacks in plain sight the easiest way to avoid looking for something bad. There's jars of nuts & seeds, & a dark chocolate box on my kitchen table, next to the fruit. I make sure I get enough protein to curb any starch cravings, which are my weight pitfall, & stop me getting hungry during the 14-16 hours I don't eat.
If you've spotted a nice wedding frock for your son's big day, use that as a carrot rather than a stick to get to the size you want. Think how fabulous your going to look in it when you see the photos!
