A walk along the river

I had a walk along the river yesterday with this very large dog I walk.

I had been taking him to the woods up the road but now I am struggling with where to walk him as there have been reports on fb and I have experienced strange goings on at the woods and it doesnt feel safe.

He is really big and strong so you have to think ahead as he can't always fit through a gap meant for dogs 😃 or get over a stile. So yesterday I drove to the next village which isnt ideal as there is a manual level crossing and we got stuck there for 15 minutes on the way and 5 on the way back 🙄 it's a shame a few people ruin the enjoyment and freedom of places to walk for others.

Anyway it was a lovely walk and made a change 🙂

What a gorgeous dog, I was brought up with Collies and that one is just like the dog my mum and dad had called Max.

I'm so so sorry the woods by you are unsafe Ali and that there have been reports on FB and you've experienced about strange goings on. So hard not being able to be free.

I would like to think that you would be safe with a big dog, but, at the very least, it should be a deterrent. You did the right thing, by putting your own safety first, while thinking of Mr. Berny (?) too.

Thank you. I contacted 101 about the reports of strange goings on in the wood but they didn’t reply. I’ve heard of more since I posted this. I think if the dog was a German shepherd I would feel safer 😂

Yes, true.

Perhaps the police might help, especially so, if they think that it's people selling and/or, taking drugs. See if the police have a community office, for that area, and go in and have a chat with them; just an idea.

You're right to stay clear of that area for a while x
