PIP tribunal TBI....UPDATE

My PIP tribunal was successful, but what a battle over 16 months to finally be noticed by the establishment that I carry this invisible injury.

PIP is a horrible process, even my MP said as much to me when I asked for his assistance. It is available so do apply, but for some it is an experience I never want to go through again.

Take care all and thank you to all that sent me messages of support.

Good cheer to you all.

Excellent, good news! And well done for fighting it. A word of warning however...

When the review occurs in 3-4 years time you may have to fight all over again. I have, three times. You will win again, but it's a pain.

Yup! That's why I never applied for PIP after losing DLA. It was going to be bad enough once but to know that that would not be enough and they'd come knocking again soon after was just too much to deal with.

So glad to hear it was successful for you, eventually.

Well done! I couldn’t agree more that a TBI is an ‘invisible injury’

Well done! Congratulations on your perseverance 👏

My application for an amendment is “in review”. I’m not expecting it to go through on my past experience of the system, but I shall follow your example if it’s rejected and get my MP involved.

Chenz All power to you. I am still being either ignored or rejected over and over by the so called dwp (lower case intentional). It seems you have to convince the know nothing cretins that you are quadrapaedic, blind and deaf for any possible realisation that I have problems.

After what I know from experience PIP form filling and been acknowledged as having a unseen brain injury is an absolute nightmare.I didn't put my brain injury down only ptsd but they still refused, after 3 years and finally some honest tribunal professionals, not the DWP! I was awarded £8000 in back payments!

This process is still horrendous for most people including people with an aquired head injury however it happened. The often challenging, unwarrented confusing repetitive questions that are fired to people despite meidcal evidence is outright unlawful and disgraceful but it is still happening to vulnerable people of all ages.

I am so pleased you had support and was awarded what you are entitled to, I know from other Headway members and people I have helped with the process that it can make a huge difference with travel due to fatigue etc.

I wish you well for the future and for giving others hope in this arduous process called PIP.
