Hi Purple. Sorry to hear of your friend's injury.
It'll be a waiting game until your friend's brain is ready to face consciousness. Your best bet for now is to talk to him/her about anything familiar to you both, and be as tactile as medical paraphernalia allows.
A familiar voice and human touch can be so reassuring, and helpful in calming any underlying agitation.
Trust in the care of medical staff ; they're very caring, highly competent, professionals. And try not to stress about lack of visible progress ; It is such early days.
Stay in touch here m'love.
All best wishes for your friend's good progress and better days to come... Cat. x
Hi. Sending hugs
Just take it day by day, it’s a waiting game. I prepared some pictures and put names and dates on the back, they may allow you to stick them on the wall or use a book, it also gives the nurses something to talk to your friend about. I prepared a usb stick with favourites music/ sounds of nature or whatever your friend really likes, so they can use headphones with your friend to listen to. Ask the staff if there is anything you can do do/bring in. If you need a break have it, your friendship and strength will be needed later. Take care x
