I have begun watching Christmas stuff on Netflix because it is easy to pause and it is escapism π. I know its fickle mush but I am happy with that in my little cocoon. I have even bought online a Chrsitmas tree decoartion for my sister, a felt-made mouse, and it is very cute. π I was not really a cutesy person before head injury but I get joy from cute things now.
Anyway I just wanted to tell you something that I do and wondered if you do it too?
When I am going out socially it is still hard work being prepared for it and getting ready for it. For me this means going to visit my family or going out to eat. I do this infrequently. I have realised that a part of my process in getting ready is a need to log on to Headway and read some posts. I often reply to posts at this time too. My ability to reply seems to be enhanced at this time! Sometimes doing this makes me late! ββ° I assume I do this to make me feel stronger knowing that others battle to do it too...
So thank you everyone for contributing to the forum and I wish you all well.

There's a short, animated film which comes to mind here Catrabbit.
Last Christmas I saw 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' and, although it's only 30 mins long, it left a lasting impression.
The story, told with amazing graphics and endearing characters (from a children's book of the same name) can be a massive tonic for anyone, of any age.
The author wrote :-
"We can easily identify parts of ourselves in all four characters β The Boy, who contends with both fear and innocence, The Mole, who has a firm belief in the consoling power of cake, The Fox, who is damaged and distrustful, and The Horse who is gentle and wise".
I pestered all family members to watch it ; (some thought it odd, my raving about a 'cartoon') ----but they were soon converted.π―
You can catch it on BBCi 'til the end of this year ! x
Hmm know what you mean catrabb, I still have problems getting out to things, it's better now that some things like going to regular art groups, start to be more part of habit, but weirdly new things are more difficult, even though the process of going out is exactly the same. I write a lot of detailed lists hopefully on order, for something new. I'm very easily distracted now, so I do things in a peculiar order, even with a list.....
