"bonfire night"
hi D, me again might as well add to this too, but I would ban all fireworks except organised ones, I don’t know if Sean reacts to fireworks but my daughter has severe ptsd and fireworks cause flashbacks and cause really bad distress. They take her back to Afghanistan and Iraq and being constantly mortared and attacked, we have triple glazing thanks to help for heroes and she sleeps on a mattress on the floor because that’s where she’s safest, with her headphones on so yes I would ban them especially taking them out of the hands of idiots who think it’s ok to throw them at police and fire etc love Alice xx
Oh D ; it must be a terrifying night for all poor creatures. God only knows what sort of threat they imagine all the flashing and banging to be !
My foxes wouldn't come out of their hidey holes for their dinner tonight no matter how many times I called them (they usually come running within seconds). I've left a plate-full for them & just hope they venture out once it's quietened down.
And I don't know about your area but Bonfire 'night' lasts three days here. When I had cats they all snuggled up to me with big scared expressions ; I locked the cat-flap and provided a litter tray.
Give Sox loads of cuddles from me ! Xxx
I hate fireworks. They should be banned. My 2 year old lurcher gets so scared. He wears a thunder shirt, which helps, but had him with a blanket over his head and the radio on to drown out the bangs. My 4 month old pup not too bothered. At least I could cuddle them, but what about the poor wild animals?(and people who are also affected).Luckily my husband (who has the brain injury)just ignored them.Unfortunately fireworks seem to be let off randomly. If they won't ban them, then should be restricted to organised displays and be silent.
I was out yesterday so missed this but no doubt they'll be banging and booming away tonight (6th). It was pretty quiet near me last night for some reason. My dog is 12 now and his hearing isn't great so he doesn't react to fireworks as he once did. My strategy is close all curtains, keep your dog close by, stroking as much as is needed, and don't react to any fireworks that go off. If you're not bothered or stressed yourself then that calm persona will transfer to your dog. Well that's what I find anyway 😊
