end in sight

i wanted to share my news with you guys as you have all been such a help and support to me in the last year. My husband had a fall last December and has been in hospital then onto rehab ever since. Well I found out this week he is now on an 8 week plan for discharge !! His mobility is brilliant, no stick now, can do all routine things he needs, dressing, eating, making a cuppa so he will be home for Christmas. I know we still have a lot of work to do but sometimes I didn't dare to think of this happening. He has been such a fighter all the way though. Excited is an understatement.

Great news and a great gift for Christmas.

I don't know if you do this but have you tried keeping a journal/diary . This helps when progress seems slow to be able to look back and see just how far he has come.

It helps as at the end of recovery to see that improvement is still being made. Also as the years go by to look back at the initial impact and subsequent work that has been done.

Have great Christmas,

Pax

Delighted to know that there is an end to the rehab phase, and seeing it here certainly gives me hope that things will become more and more 'back to normal'. He will carry on improving of course. So pleased for you. Have a great Christmas.

sad to say, normal is unattainable?! Prefer to consider myself….unique, least I can do after all the cost to the NHS!! Keep smiling!! X

Oh yes, there's a bit of me that knows that. Trying to ignore it. Guess you are ahead, and have arrived at acceptance. This too is a big part of the learning curve. Thank you for posting.
