I see from your other posts that your injuries were 10-12 months ago Teazy in which case it's still early days for you m'love.

On discharge from hospital I felt sure that determination and stubbornness would get me 'back to normal' within a few weeks and it was shocking to learn that my normality from thereon would be very different.

It was Headway which taught me the reality of brain injury and how it's a waiting game of at least 2-3 years whilst we adapt and learn the coping strategies for a different lifestyle.

I do remember the frustrations and low moods, especially when other ailments hit, but it's only by forgiving ourselves (& fate) for our new limitations that we can find peace .....and pleasure.

It does get better with time and adjustment Teazy. Hang in there.... Cat x

Thanks cat , I can cope sometimes and other times I’m I struggle … I do see from all on here that it’s a long slow progress and it is very lonely sometimes … people around me don’t have any idea what it really feels like .. it’s just in here i here the same as I’m feeling and truly I’m so much better than Others .. sue

High's and lows are part of the adjustment process Sue especially when struggling to have invisible issues taken seriously. Your invisible illness is very real, and lack of empathy is a lonely place for most of us with brain injury.

But coming here is where I feel most at home and helps keep the isolation at bay.

At the stage you're at now it was one step forward and several back for me. Hope it improves for you as it has now for me m'love. x
