Hi. I am sorry I can't help personally, but it might help to call the Headway helpline. Their number is 0808 800 2244. Best wishes. 🌼

Hi Leanne. If your original consultant isn't listening then perhaps a referral to a separate neuropathic pain specialist who can test for and identify the source of your pain. There are various treatments including laser treatment, electrical or magnetic nerve stimulation, medications such as Amitriptyline or SSRIs and certain seizure drugs. Treatment depends on the source of pain and history.

After Meningitis I had physio to relieve inflammation & nerve pain at the top of my spine ; the traction was so soothing and over a period of weeks gave great relief. I also benefitted from massage (I was offered it free at the Christie hospital as a visitor to a loved one) after my Bi.

Ask your GP for a referral. Sadly we often have to be the directors of our own aftercare post brain injury. Best wishes, Cat x
