My father had a traumatic brain injury a couple of months ago. Soon he is going to be discharged from the hospital. He doesn’t walk, he lacks mental capacity. The Deputyship process is in progress.
I’m wondering what kind of ongoing financial support he could get, apart from Universal Credit and PIP? For instance, could he become a member of a charity to get a gift aid from my taxes?

You can't claim any form of tax relief for charitable donations where a family member is a beneficiary.
There would be no other funding source. Depending on his age there may be some funding from the Council Adult Services - but that is really rare.

On your tax question, he can't become a charity I'm afraid.
I think you might possibly be able to pay into a pension for him, and he would get tax relief added to the pension fund money at 20%. You'd need help from a financial adviser on the details - it would depend on his age how useful it would be to him, and you. The rules might change in the budget though.
If he's been working, in the last few tax years he may qualify for contribution based ESA - a lot of good advice from the others here. Did he have any insurance policies in place?
If he had his injury at work he might be able to claim Industrial Injuries Benefit on top of things like PIP, ESA or Universal Credit. Also if his injuries is going to be a legal issue then you will need a specialist solicitor to advise you on this & also what he can claim. If none of what I mentioned affects your Father then you need to contact Headway or Citizens advice who will help you with any benefits that your father can claim and also carers allowance.
