Are people with anoxic brain damage classed as vulnerable during this covid-19 epidemic? I was in a coma in intensive care for weeks and my body/system as never been the same since and I know my body won't survive another trauma.

Perhaps ask the Headway helpline? They generally have a good idea on this sort of info. Their number is 0808 800 2244. Best wishes. 🙂🌸

Dear Lollipopslife,

If you are 'Considered', to be, in the Vulnerable Group you WILL have received Text, Email and Letter alerts/ conformation. Trust me, on this, I have been Bombarded! Mind you, just because the 'Powers That Be' don't consider you 'Vulnerable' doesn't mean your NOT!

I would, at the very least, keep your Head Down- Don't go out, except for a Local Walk, and Avoid the 'Shops' as far as possible. Order 'On Line'.... My Personal recommendation is Iceland- quite easy, a Good Range and quick delivery. (I don't know if this is in ALL areas but, in my Mother's Area, Morrisons are 'doing' a Next Day 'Telephone Order' service. That 'might' be worth an enquiry too.)

Do, by all means, call the Headway Helpline- or your Local Branch, if Staffed, and ask their advice. Mind you, look on the Bright Side, with the current 'Bout' of Weather.... who Wants to go out, that much anyway!

My advice? Stay Safe Lolliposlife- what an 'interesting' and indeed 'lovely' name, by the way. Can I be Bold enough, to ask, how you 'came by' it please? Since it is still January...

Happy New Year 2021

Hello, I would suggest calling your GP for confirmation

I have read the guidelines around the vulnerable and very vulnerable, stroke, BI, circulation, heart problems is identified as being within the very vulnerable group, but in the list it is near the bottom of the list, and from the description it is not clear. I think it is badly worded to leave a certain amount of interpretation. Your GP or specialist would be able to give you a definitive answer based on their interpretation.

I have not seen BI in a list, might you say where you saw that. I am think it is unlikely I will get vaccine soon, I don't think gp s recognise problems with breathing which I think is in the underlying conditions list , for fourth in the list for a vacine.People have written about non automatic breathing problems, on this forum, perhaps they are too mild to be an underlying condition.£ I have to make myself to breathe at times,£££ as I stop breathing, although if I lie in a prone position or on my stomach my breathing is continuous. I think I will need to be patient and wait for my turn and stay safe as I don't feel very robust and can get ill a lot.

Would be this one.

nhs.uk/conditions/coronavir...

Brain injury is a condition that effects the brain, so I guess we would count as moderate risk.

In my experience quite a variety as to how it effects folks, but anything with lungs bad, and being overweight etc can ramp up the risks.

If you can avoid it I would as it’s desperately unpleasant, even as someone who is generally fit and healthy even if often run down!
