Any insights into restless leg syndrome much appreciated?
Yep..i do😔.Not all the time n cant figure why I get it,but it's horrible.
Heat sometimes helps.
anti nausea, sedating antihistamines (like benadryl) and antidepressants that increase serotonin can aggravate the condition.
i would only get restless legs when i took benadryl.. it was certainly not fun.
Dear magdolna,
I only have some 'Practical' advice, if you move onto your side-- whichever is more comfortable- push your feet under the sheet, such that you are putting 'Pressure' on your toes- NOT right on the 'ends' but so your toes flex. (you might have to Try This, in order to Understand what I'm driving at... sorry.) Pushing Down, can cause, a slight dis-comfort.... and Much Relief! I sometimes 'wrap', my toes 'around' the mattress's edge, which I find particularly 'Helpful'.
Beyond this, you can try 'Warm', 'Hot', 'Epsom Salt', 'Tea/ Coffee' Baths/ Soaks- some people DO find that they work. Various creams/ ointments/ emollients and the like. There are electrical 'Gadgets', that can Stimulate the circulation- my Mother uses one sometimes, with some measurable success, I believe. You can try a TENS Machine, again some people credit it highly.
Then there are the things that you can 'take', or 'Reduce', Cranberry can offer Relief, to some people- especially if your RLS is Bladder-or Kidney- related. You can try adding/ removing say 'Salt', or 'Spice(es)' from your Diet. You can try increasing/ reducing your Water Intake- not just at bedtime (if your 'heavily' reducing fluid intake, because of wetting (sorry) then maybe just were a a pad- they are Much Less Cumbersome these days).
It might even be 'worth your while', experimenting with, 'How' you sleep.... if you Always sleep 'on your side' the Try your back, or vice versa (it will feel 'odd', for a time). There might be some Exercises that you can Do, ether before, or even in bed..... no really.
Whatever you DO 'try' magdolna, I know that we ALL wish you every success.

I have it. I used to take ami and it helped. I've stopped taking it and now it's back. Some say magnesium is good for it.
Whilst I don't have any experience of RLS, I do have constant knee pain and my GP suggested buprenorphine patches which apparently are very effective for RLS.
May be worth some investigation
