Does Anyone Have Severe Bone Pain From Arms, Heads and Legs From Shattered Bones Way After Being Injured ?

It feels like someone’s crushing my bones with a pair of pliers. And constant aching with arthritis as if my bones are made of ice.

The fracture line (of my skull) aches sometimes mildly sometimes heavily sometimes for a few days sometimes not at all.

sometimes is triggered by weather, cold weather is apparently common to make old (war wounds) ache!

Never found anything to help other than ignoring it!

Hi Roger, I’m exactly the same, it feels like I’ve been whacked over the side of the head with a bat. I can’t ignore mine though, it’s a bit to piercing with constant migraines that’s no fun.

At the precise point my skull was fractured.

Do you have a TBI as well or lucky to have got away with it ?

Hi Symundo,

Your question reminded me of a chapter in the book "The Brain that Changes Itself" By Dr. Norman Doidge -- a chapter that dealt with "phantom limb pain" (pain that people feel in a limb that has been amputated. People have developed approaches that dramatically reduce that pain though activities that rewire the brain. Might some of your pain respond to similar approaches? You may benefit online searches on that topic.

For example: scientificamerican.com/arti...

Wishing you relief,

Taia

P.S. A glimpse into the book: apadivisions.org/division-3...

Thanks Taia, I’ll have to wait for a good brain day to read that and write notes. My surgeon mentioned phantom pain that if I had my legs removed the pain would still be there.

The thing is what I’ve found out that over the years I’ve been injured cycling, diving etc that every injury has got slowly worse in pain. So my pain tolerance has been strengthening over the years until now.

Seeing a Neurologist last year, he said that migraines can cause your memory to go worse.

A Pain Team wanted me to exercise that I hadn’t done in a while, so I did, that caused to much pain where I couldn’t leave my bed for 2 or 3 days.

So needed my old pain killers to make pain tolerable.

I exercised again, pain to much in bed for 3 days. 😜

So had some old pain patches I hadn’t had in a while because they used to make me sick. And put one on while the crazy pain was there.

Then the next day I wake up, my TBI is much better where I still forget and can’t concentrate but now hardly any pain that’s driving me to do many things I’ve been unable to do for 2 years. Still at 5% of the speed of someone but can now force myself to finish or start something I was unable to do.

In all this I found my pain tolerance was so extraordinary very good. So good that I don’t feel pain for quite a long time. But starts to shut my brain 🧠 down before.

I’ve tested myself doing various things and taking various pain killers where the strongest works to stop me being bed ridden 🛌.

Is this heard of often Taia ?

I’m just worried such strong pain killers over the years will shorten my life so much turning my insides into mush.
