I had a motorbike accident in late 2015 during which I sustained an impact to the base of my skull, top of my neck, since then I've been signed off work due to Occipital Neuralgia, and Back (top of), Neck problems, and intensive headaches.
I recently read an article on Mild Traumatic Brain Injury linked below, I have all the symptons listed aside from regular Nausea / sickness, it's only occasional in the mornings.
I've mentioned this to my GP who made the comment of "that's interesting" and his interest seems to have stopped there, despite asking again.
I would have thought a neurologist but in my case they disn't agree! Our said post concussion synd Rome with variant migrains. Two thought I'm left with chronic tension headaches due to b12 deficiency. So I've probably a mixture of the two. Only a x tusk evidence was my B12 low level.
I have headaches of varying degrees. Off balance at times. Mainly after exposure to artificial light. . Sizzling g in my head skull tightness and pain behind my eyes. I would actuallyexpect ti know what's happened to me?? Too. I have occassions nausea too. Sometimes really bad if moved wrong??
My Gp is at a loss of what to do with me. Neurologist has discharged me . I'm far from anywhere near functioning. I now long time read or watch TV. I'm 19 months in. I don't suppose we will ever get a true diagnosis. I hope you make daily improvements
Hi. I suppose it depends on which symptoms from the list you have. It might be a neurologist, a neuropsychologist, a neuropsychiatrist etc. I spoke to Headway and they helped me understand what to ask for. My GP didn’t oblige unfortunately and seemed very ill informed. Headway produce some guides for GPs which might help (but didn’t in my case). Hopefully you’ll fare better and get the help you need. Good luck.
Have your vision tested for visual shifting. It often happens after a head injury and goes by unoticed. You would also have trouble reading dizziness poor balance nausea dizziness and fatigue. Might help
