The local anaesthetic within the nerve block injections will wear off within a few days, but the steroid takes around 10 days to start working.

So you're probably at that interim stage Leanne, where there's leftover discomfort from the needles but the pain management hasn't yet kicked in.

Take whatever pain killers work best for you in the meantime and the pain should start to reduce gradually, day on day. Hang in there ! x

I think cat3 is right, but if you have concerns then contact the specialist that performed the procedure, you will probably have to go via their secretary, but if they are good, they will get back to you.

I have had quite a few "nerve blocks" over the years. Never in the face (deep into the armpit) though) which I can imagine will be quite painful anyway.

The ones I have had, have left bruising which have taken a while to come to the surface and was still there two weeks later.
