I'm sure this has been mentioned, but I can't remember. My partner woke up this morning and a moment of feeling dizzy. He said it felt like his brain was moving around even though his head was still. He had a busy physio session and has a bit of a sniffle, I was just wondering, could it be he has got over tired? I'm sure in the past, it's been mentioned but I can't recall what others have experienced.

I too have dizziness and attend physio. Wasn’t sure what to make of it but it makes sense. Every time I go , end up in bed with worse dizziness but it wears off after a day or two . Worth persevering I think .

Hi Sue, I suffer from dizziness to on a daily basis & it could be a mixture of causes, mine is anxiety or it could be over-tiredness. My GP has prescribed all sorts of medication & can't seem to get it right, a matter of trial & error. If it happens once he wakes up in bed, use maybe 3 pillows to prop it up as Its kind of helps me, also my Physio showed e different exercises in the morning like turning your head left to right for about a minute & it can help the dizziness. In the end I might suggest CBT therapy for the anxiety as medication doesnt seem to work. 😊

Hi Sue. If it's a recent issue it could be a cold virus or a case of overdoing things. But if it persists your man's GP should be able to help, with either an ENT or neuro referral or medication. It's very common for vertigo to strike after sitting up in bed or lying down.

I've had BPPV (benign, paroxysmal, positional vertigo) for many years which was kept at bay by Stemetil, until it was withdrawn recently due to contraindication with heart meds. So now, on top of the post-Bi balance issue it's become a big deal, so I've an appointment with an ENT specialist next month.

The 'Brandt-Daroff' & 'Epley' maneuvers (amongst others) can help significantly by freeing crystals from inner ear canals, and are most effective if practiced every couple of months. Hope it's just a blip for your partner though m'dear. x

Thank you everyone for your helpful information and experience, I do appreciate the response. Since I have been at work, he has had a restful day with a good nap and is better then earlier. Although he has the issue of fatigue, it was the first time, for a long time he has been dizzy. X

Vestibular damage is reasonably common, though normally would be picked up before? Though mine wasn’t as the rest of my systems where able to cope/compensate.

Did it get picked up eventually and by who?

Generally physios for myself need vestibular rehab, for myself when I had a assessment for various things this was picked up.

He has a private neuro physio, I will ask her, although I'm sure she mentioned vestibular.
