"Would you like a leaflet ?" say Headway.

The internet memory hole.

Had pip interrogation 3 weeks ago, only just realised today that the questions that had nothing to do with the form were memory tests. 3 weeks for me to realise I'd been suckered by capita scum. Oh they were friendly and helpful in there shiny corperate bunker. I would've come across as calm and normal-ish. Coping mechanisms from my life as a physical and mental cripple and years of neuro rehab in clinical places and supported housing, Headay with me said nothing. Not a thing, before or after. I've been hung out to dry.

'oh but you can do mandatory thing and when that fails, which it will, then appeal.'

An appeal. Sat in front of another bunch of arseholes judging me. Strangers. It took me ages plus an extension to get the paperwork together for pip. No easy task for me. DLA will end. ESA will end then more and more frequent interogations for UC. Life is shit. Government and there cororate mates making millions with the disabled destruction industry.

I’m so sorry to hear all of this :/ it feels horrible being assessed by people who don’t live a life involving a disability. It’s only natural to feel frustrated and upset. Did the Headway representative know about your case? It sounds like they were not able to support you? How odd. Please let us know what decision they make. I feel so sorry for your situation. Take care

Bless you blacksailedtraders---You sadly are not the only one.

BBC reported this online

I suppose it was Maximus as recent post and not ATOS (French company) who made assessment and deemed you fit for work.

I believed it was Ian Duncan Smith of conservative party who is to be blamed as it was him (or maybe a Labour MP before him) who planned and set this all in motion in order to save money at OUR expense emotionally, phychologically or physically.

The person from ATOS or MAXIMUS who interviewed or should I say interogated you would probably not have known or understood anything of brain injury. That would not have mattered to them as (I believe) they are just encouraged to get you off disability benefits.

Ignoring your or our state of health is their way as ATOS now MAXIMUS are paid 100's of Millions of pounds to get people into "the fit to work" bracket.

Yes hundreds of Millions (check online).

When living in Oxford I arrived for ATOS appointment on wrong day and wrong timeand very stressed. When I did get there later that month proper day/time they could not but say I was unfit for work as I was so so muddled and troubled and not even able to speak correctly. After that horiffic experience someone who I told advised to contact Headway in Oxford.Headway in Oxford where I then lived worked in a completely differnt way to Headway in Norwich. They may still do so? Weekly outreach worker visits in Norwich help me tremendously.

I cannot but praise Headway in Norwich as outreach worker soon put ATOS lady in her place as she was provoking me by the aggressive way she was questioning me.

It was also a Headway support worker who filled form in recently for me and got my PIP benefit sorted.

Perhaps watching I Daniel Blake or moving to Norwich and get support worker with a beard may be a help to you !!!

I am sorry if this seems flippant.

It is not meant to be so.

Rather it is meant to encourage you to know that you can be helped and if I understand your post correctly you also could/should show your Headway group and/or Headway outreach worker how they or he/she can help.
