LED lighting

Thought I'd start a new post.

Just read an interesting article online by Professor Arnold Wilkins. (Never heard of him until Pinkvision told me)

Seems

'Good for the Planet but bad for headaches' (2017)

Seems LED flickers more than florescent lighting. There do seem to be different sorts though.

I thought the electrician understood as he himself had had a head injury many years ago. He also said I had a strong purple aura??

I haven't actually been in the lights yet apart from the one briefly in the bathroom. That is enclosed with a dome. I have an anti blue light on this small mobile. My head still sizzles and I can't look at it for long or at all some days.

So along with Pinkvision any ideas for lighting please . Should've followed my gut instinct but for once didn't as simpler to replace with what was advised and I read about on theraspec as the fittings could be used. False economy.

I think they flicker because of the rectification of AC to DC. How they convert the alternating sinusoidal wave into a constant flow.

Cheap ones do only half the job so you get flickering. Especially noticeable if you move.

I have not seen any reviews or manufactures state the method used to understand how much flicker their product would produce.

You can get capacitors to try and smooth the flicker out.

Note that if you plan to dim the light the flicker can get worse.

I have Robus ones and they flicker. Mainly noticeable if you move.

try to get the old fashioned tungsten bulbs 40W, continuous emitter, all LED and tube lighting flickers between 60 and 100 times a second. Some fluorescent tubes flicker at 40 to 60 times a second, nasty.

Okay I will. Goodness you would think the electrician would know. !!

What a waste. Have to give myself the best chance though for winter

Thanks
