Is your father still in hospital and/or having any form of therapy ?

Have the doctors explained the basis of their prognosis ? Most neuro specialists don't make such predictions as brain injury is so specific to each individual and two people with the same initial issue can have very different outcomes. Maybe the scans are showing irreparable damage ; I'm guessing of course.

I suggest you phone the Headway helpline for some professional advice & information. The number is 0808 800 2244 (office hours - free calls).

I hope you'll find some clarity and peace of mind my dear.

Regards Cat x

He is at home from June 2018 and normal physio therapy is adopted on my father but he is very stubborn in nature now a days if he said I don't want to walk then he won't no body will able to do That this type of stubborn he is now please tell what should I do

Somehow he must be persuaded to accept help ; perhaps cognitive behaviour therapy would be useful. But making progress towards better functioning after brain injury is dependant on efforts from the individual themselves.

There's no magic cure and either doctors or family need to convince your father that his lack of cooperation will prevent further progress and cause great concern for family. Please try the helpline ; they might know where you can access practical support.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're having.

Ring the Headway helpline number 0808 800 2244 and perhaps say this:

'I need to access services who can help my father to regain motivation and independence.

Is there a Headway Group near me that he can attend?

Can someone from Headway visit my father to identify what help he needs?'

Also you need to contact your fathers doctor surgery and ask the GP if the community Neurological Team or an occupational therapy practitioner can visit him and help with his difficulties.

The help available depends on where you live. Not every area has community Neuro teams and not every area has a Headway Group.

Your GP shou1ld offer you a Carers assessment if you are looking after your father. You might be able to arrange respite care for him so that you have breaks from full time caring, but this will depend on his needs and they need to be assessed by the sound of things.

You also may be able to find a local Carers Group or Assocaiton which you can register with and they also may be able to offer some limited support for yourself if you're struggling to care for your father.

Good luck
