Muscle relaxants to help mobility - yes or no?

Our 28yr old son has a right sided weakness following a TBI 2 years ago. He continues to slowly improve but is restricted by complex involuntary spasms. Botox is not an option, so oral muscle relaxants are an option. The side effects of the ones being suggested sound dreadful.

His left side is very strong and dominating too much. It also has some motor dysfunction but generally good.

Anyone have other suggestions, preferably not a medication?

Thanks

Jane

Hi Jane

It is worth remembering that any side effect has to be listed even tough they are rare.

Is your son on any other medication?

If you dont mind me asking....why are you so set against these meds?

Muscle relaxants could be just what your son needs to reduce the spasms and allow him to exercise both sides equally.

Hope you both find what works.
