Hello everyone, living with a brain injury is made more difficult when you are banned from Headway for trying to open a Headway Advice Together Service on Bournemouth pier. Apparently this has not been approved as some people want to keep discussion of brain injury away from public spaces and on private telephone lines.
Well, we do not have a telephone and we have every right to rent space on Bournemouth pier for our brain injury support group. We are not calling it headway anymore and I have complained about them to the charity commissioner.
We also campaign to Save Our NHS and give that 350 million pounds a week to Bournemouth NHS since Boris promised us that. More forbidden political talk!
Never let people push you down just because you have a brain injury.

If anyone thinks Brexit will help the NHS, don't hold your breath. Any voluntary sector agency normally operates on the principle of being non-political, however that doesn't means your Social Policy work ignores the systemic problems brought about by Gov. policy.
Having been interviewed on the Radio, they always try and push you to be critical of the ruling party, sidestep that and give the facts is the best stance to take in my experience.
As for calling yourself Headway they are bound to have problems with that, I wouldn't want anyone posting in my name.
However I would hope a Headway group would liaise and support any other group working in a similar way. It appears this dispute has clouded the mind of both parties.
I've come across this in the voluntary sector on a number of occasions and it often comes from a lack of communication at the start.
As previously explained, we offer a network of face-to-face support services across the country which people can search for at headway.org.uk
We are very much of the belief that face-to-face support is essential, however we need to be involved with any services that operate in our name in order to protect our members.
We sent you a private message a few days ago offering to meet to discuss this next week. If you could check your messages and reply (on your previous account) I'd be very grateful.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and would like to give you all the help and support we can.
