For the last month my neck has been starting to dislocate. Mainly when I bend over and start to stand up again. It feels like it’s happening at all stages up my cervical spine. The very top of my spine and the base of the occiput I am getting a lot of pain which exacerbates on movement. My headaches have got much worse. This instability is causing me further memory and organisation problems. The slipping of the skull down the spine is causing the decrease in the clivo-axial angle which in turn is causing more stretch injury to my brainstem. Do researchers take this angle into account when looking at the causes of dementia? I wonder!

Instability worsens - memory worsens
Droopy, I think such issues need the attention of the medical experts. If your GP can't help, ask Headway for advice on an appropriate specialist and ask your GP for a referral..........perhaps a neuro-physiotherapist.
Sadly, most brain injuries leave behind a raft of problems, many of which are life-changing and can only be 'managed' rather than treated. My neuro-consultant tried everything in his power to address my problems, referring me to various other specialists, but without any success. It's an ongoing issue from a haemorrhage 6 years ago.
I hope you can access the help you need ; the NHS really is in crisis though, so it might be quite a wait for an appointment. I waited a year to see my neuro doctor and continue to see him, but only every 12 months.
Best wishes, Cat x
Hi cat3 Thank you for your advice and support. I’m sorry to hear your story? I hope you’re settled in a home and financially ok. That’s what we all want I would think but been sofa hopping for three years now and it’s taking its toll. It’s not fair on my sons to have to put a roof over my head. I’m going to the Doctors this week and will be asking him for Dementia tests and also for specialist referrals. Best wishes Xx
