I had my crainioplasty done on the 12th of April this year and had a small dent that appeared a couple of days later. I've healed well but the dent has got quite painful now with a bruise and is rather tender to touch. Any ideas what's happened?

Hi Gina, I have a dent too after my cranioplasty. Mine isn't painful but my cranioplasty was longer ago than yours - about 20 months now. Hopefully your pain and tenderness will improve. Take care x
Thanks for your reply and it's good to know I'm not alone lol...seeing my surgeon on the 13th so hopefully he can tell me why it's happened. X
For five pounds, Boots sell Arnica 84 pillules, in the case of bruising, I would take 3 of these, do not touch with hands but drop straight into mouth under tongue, not within 30 mins of cleaning teeth, and wait until dissolved, about 5 minutes, usually I take them as I'm thinking about going to bed. Sometimes if a bruise is painful in the night, I would wake and take 3, sit up with pillow until dissolved, then go back to sleep. If you repeat every 3-4 hours until bruising has gone down, ensure you drink plenty of water (at least a couple of pints) as these pills make you thirsty.
Of course, if homeopathy is not for you, please ignore this post. Works a treat for me. Best.
Hi Gina1972,
I had mine in July 2017 and it was tender for quite a while only one small dent below my plate still hurts. Hurt to comb my hair for a long time. The numb skull bugged me, my head would itch but i couldn’t feel me scratching it! I can feel the plate and a screw but it only hurts there now if i bump it. I’m coming up on a year and it’s much better than it was. Sometimes I thought it would never go away but it does 😊 I found that a soft cold pack helped me.
