Is anyone watching series 6 of Elementary (Sky Living, 9pm, Mondays)? Spoiler in next paragraph if you are and haven’t seen episode 1 yet.
Holmes is diagnosed with post concussion syndrome. I’m watching with interest as I have it too. It would be great if Headway could recruit Jonny Lee Miller as an ambassador for PCS!

I couldn’t believe it when watched it, finally recognisition of PCS as seems the USA takes it much more seriously than UK as neurologist seem here seem once you’ve gone over a certain length of time they try tell you your depressed even tho you’ve seen councillors and other specialists who say other wise. Maybe some hope.
I know exactly what you mean about neurologists. They said the same about me. However, I saw a psychiatrist recently who said it’s not depression and neurologists know nothing! Just waiting for his written report now.
Watching it last night too, with Migraines and other disturbances you get, it’s all such a similar thing I go through..with being diagnosed with PCS along with other head traumas, they fact the mist of NHS don’t take you seriously, even tho I go to specialised ABI group weeekly and lost my job and my life has really changed, I glad to see finally somewhere in this world, pursides Headway that actually take this as a life changing issue x
Hi Womble, do you not think it’s weird that we sufferers have a myriad of symptoms, yet our MRI brain scans are reported as normal. Post Concussion Syndrome is in fact a brain injury and should be called that.
Our scans come back as normal because the Radiologists persistently do not look in the right place for this injury. Have you had a brain MRI that was reported as normal. If so I’d like to help you get a reassessment of that report.
Hi Liz that’s true. Neurologists haven’t got a clue about mild brain injury and how it affects ones capacity to work. As long as we can move our limbs they think we are perfectly ok. The NHS call it Post Concussion Syndrome, because the Radiologists are unable to find any abnormalities. The reason for this is that they are looking in the wrong place. By asking them to measure a specific angle in the skull base, could be a turning point for every person who has suffered long term PCS.
