Diabetes insipidus after TBI

Hi

Did anyone here develop DI after their TBI? If so, how severe was it? Did you need medication or were you able to "self-treat" by just drinking more to rehydrate? Do you still have it or did it subside? If you still have it, how long has it been since your injury? If yours subsided, how long did this take?

Sorry for the massive list of questions, just curious to hear other people's experience with DI. My partner has it after his injury (8 months ago) and his consultant said it's "usually" transient, but he didn't say how long it normally takes to get better.

Hiya oneedge I had it @the brain injury rehabilitation unit after my TBI of 10WEEKS in a coma,I had a catheter bag in & used to take nasal spray for diabetes insipidus, is this what the nasal spray was for?

They gave me reconstruction of the bladder & removed my catheter bag which I stopped taking the spray & I wasable to URINATE freely & successfully no embarrassing bed wet moments lol.

Let me know your thoughts folks?

David
