Cognitive overload, just the noise and people, I do like parties but it takes me a day or so to recover! You do get better at it, though personally parties still hurt!

I agree with Roger. I'm almost 6 years post-SAH and still feel disorientated after any social gathering. Hopefully you'll get the hang of 'managing' your exposure to high energy situations in time, though you might need to adjust your expectation levels.

Most of us with brain inury are intolerant to noise, bright lights and excess stimulus of any kind. Cat x

I concur with the other 2 replies sudden noise causes me more issues than constant noise but some days cannot cope with anything. Brain overload be it noise, light, or just thinking is everyday for me im 2 years post sah but I do think post 2 years something has clicked into place and all my coping mechanisms are a bit better.although we all have some commonalities we are each individuals and our journies have different twist and turns. I went to my first dinner dance this week and stayed 4 hours and danced from my chair at the table was very proud of myself. It will take time but you will be a party girl again but in a slightly changed form don't rush it

It can take as much as three days for me to recover from an over stimulating experience, needless to say I keep a low profile these days. Its likely to be years rather than months Woo.

I had that happen to me. Someone put a drug in my drink. Luckily I was there with my bestie.
