Hi, I've been doing dead well in my recovery for a while now but just now I'm having a prolonged episode of dizziness which hasn't happened for ages. I don't know if it's just tiredness but has anyone else experienced anything similar? Just came out of nowhere so a bit strange!

When it first started happening it did seem to be if I turned over in bed or got up quickly but this time it just seemed to come on when I was sitting down. Think it's probably more to do with burning the candle at both ends too much! Thank you for your reply :)

Hi, I think you've already hit the nail on the head.

A lot of BIs result in damage to the vestibular system or the he connections between your eyes and ears causing the dizziness you describe.

I went to a vision therapist, at my cost, who explained all this to me, she gave me exercises to do to link the two together again, unfortunately it isn't routinely done in this country, it is in the US. It helped a great deal, I also had BPPV which was treated by the NHS, my GP arranged for me to see the ENT in our NHS trust area, some GP practices will have had training in this, it's called the Eply manoeuvre and you can do it yourself. The hardest part of it is sleeping sitting up for a few days after it.

You can find the Eply manoeuvre explained on line if you search for it.

Best wishes

Yes me too. I get dizzy when get up and look up, so walking is hard work to balance, but I don't really notice it now.

Brandt daroff exercises that you can do at home several times a day can be helpful.

I use these if my bppv starts bothering me. Investing an hour a day is worth it.

Also the anti seasick wristbands.

I used to get dizzy for 10-15seconds when getting out of bed/standing up too fast but not really anymore.

I hope it fades away for you too
