My husband had his TBI in January . He finally got some movement in his arm. He's able to squeeze and lift alittle bit. I wanted to know will it all start coming back fast or will it still take time. Who else experience this?

Muscle weakness
I'm sorry to say that even the doctors can't predict the speed, or level, of improvement. It really is a 'Wait & see' matter for each individual after any type of brain injury.
But any new progress is a really positive sign and daily exercising of the problem area should be encouraged.
My neighbour had serious limitations with one arm and leg after a stroke, but one year on he's cycling and walking again. I believe his recovery was aided by regular physio and an hour of swimming twice a week.
Does your husband have physiotherapy Desire ?
Thanks for replacing yes he does everyday
Although recovery is limited in most cases, time is the biggest factor in recovery from brain injury . 6/7 months is still early days for your husband and it could be a year......... 2 years ?..........before he reaches his full potential.
I don't feel I reached my best (after a brain haemorrhage) until the first 3 years had elapsed and, looking back, the first year was quite a challenge.
The time element is something most of us have found frustrating. But, because of the brain's complex & delicate mechanisms, the healing/rewiring process cannot be hurried.
So if your man can embrace the passage of time as his friend, and concentrate on a healthy lifestyle, along with his physio, hopefully he and you will see better days in the not too distant future.
All best wishes, Cat x
(Sorry for delay in replying Desire.........been distracted by a heavy cold/cough ! )
desiresantos when i asked the doc about my numbness his reply was.............how long is a piece of string?
youll have to wait and see how well he responds to physio.
all the best best, keep us informed.

Yeah I was very weak after accident. Lots physio and time definitely helps. I'm not back to full strength but I a lot better
.
Hi, after my accident doctors told my parents that there was a very high chance I would have no movement in my legs. If I were to regain movement it would take years of physio. However 11 months later I nearly have full movement but that's only from have intense physio. I found physio so helpful without it I probably would still be stuck unable to walk. But everyone is different. I was very lucky. I hope your husband keeps gaining movement in his arm. All the best
