First weekend of summer hols and I've packed us up, last minute ( hubby, me, 2 dogs, icd monitor, pills, whiteboard!..) for a weekend in the Lake District ( middle of nowhere ). We live on one side of the lake District but have hot footed it to the other quieter end. I guess I'm posting for those of you like me..my husband has very minimal short term memory and other health issues following hypoxia..and just to say...if its possible, try to get out there and live. It's hard. The ptsd for me, the watching him breathe, sending heart readings, pills, reminders etc... for him, being somewhere new.

....but the peace here, the fresh air, away from appointments and rehab.. we have had tiny pockets of magic..I've took lots of photos. Making new memories. I'll remember and remind him forever ....much love xx

I've never been to the Lakes (though just about everone I know has...........my son & partner often go just for a couple of days). I find motorway driving so tiring nowadays.

The Peak district is more accessible for me but has only reservoirs ; no lakes...........still stunnung though.

Have a great week MaryLou ; you deserve the break. xx
