When people say they had a brain aneurysm do they mean it was found before it burst or it was found theyd had one but it burst, which is a haemorrhage ?

A neurologist would be able to answer your question.🤔

I had an intercerebral haemorrhage. It was not caused by a burst cerebral artery. Hence it was not an aneurysm.

It was a slow leak of a damaged cerebral artery. A brain haemorrhage.

It can mean either. Sometimes Amritsar are found when people have a heads an for another reason. They found one that my sister had when being scanned for cancer. Hers has now been coiled successfully before it burst with no side effects whatsoever, as she did not have a bleed there were no resultant problems like headache and the usual problems you are left with after a BI.

When i say haemorrhage i mean it actually blew. Ive been told by neurologists it was similar to a bullet in the brain

Hi Spideyman, I collapsed five years ago, due to unknown cause, had brain scan and found to have a aneurysm, had stents and coils fitted. Then last year was rescanned due to increase in headaches and aneurysm was bulging, whilst waiting for angiogram aneurysm ruptured, it was the worse pain i have felt and I have a good pain threshold, I had further surgery to fit more coils and have been recovering since, usual problems with short term memory loss, headaches fatigue etc but have returned to work and feel very lucky to be here love Alice xx

Hi alibingo.

Can I ask if you had checks between over the 5 years following the stent and coil?

Thank you.

Hi lagerthenlife, I had the usual scans from six moths to two years, after the two year one was told if everything stayed in place by then it was usually permanent and no further scans needed. Obviously they were wrong, and I will be opting for continued scans this time, love Alice xx

I had one that had burst, hence subarachnoid haemorrhage. The other one was found whilst coiling the first (carotid cave aneurysm), had not burst, but had it coiled. That was all 10 months ago. Hope it helps

i thought id been hit over the head with a metal pole or brick from behind i herd something pop in my head when i looked around there was no one there thats the last i remember untill i awoke in hospital they told me i had had a brain haemorrhage dew to an aneurysm then i was told i had another 3 more aneurysms and had them coiled so to answer your question according to my understanding even if they have not popped they still called them aneurysms

Hi Spideyman

I collapsed in Lapland Feb 2016, 5 months later I was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm which I had coiled 1st Aug 2016 so coming up to my anniversary! In my experience the docs diagnosis was aneurysm or ruptured aneurysm leading to bleed on the brain, hope this is helpful x

Hi, I've been on this site now maybe a couple months. I have different conditions that I like to find out about. I sleepwalk, EVERY NIGHT!! I happened to come across your post on sleep walking. Then I come across this one. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on myself, sounds like you're having a rough go of it. I'm very sorry for that. You ask about Aneurysms, my dad had a major one years ago. When they did the MRI they found that he was slowly bleeding into this vein that looked like a baloon. The Dr said if it was to burst it would have killed him instantly. But even though it didn't burst and they did surgery to repair it, the Dr still said it was an Aneurysm. My dad was never the same mentally after that. He he to retrain his brain, so he lots of therapy. I'm a retired RN, so the dr had therapy show me what to do and we worked on it every day at home. He's passed away since, but his short term memory was never the same, it's odd how brain injuries effect everyone differently.

Back to Sleepwalking, do you still do it?? I sleepwalk every night. It has become so dangerous for me. I've broken my hand, cracked my skull, TWICE. Fractured my back 3 times, and numerous concussions!! I've had 3 sleep studies and they have found nothing. Ive an MRI, EEG, and nothing there either. I had to retire from work at an earlier age then I wanted, so I've been dealing alot with depression. So, thats what they blame it on. I never get over 8 hours of sleep a week. I'm exhausted all the time. Don't ask about anti-depressants, they've done me noo good. Only made the situation worse. I've been to so many different Dr's for both issues and they all eventually give up on me. So if you know or hear of anything that might help, I would totally be interested. I hope you get to feeling better. I'll keep you in my prayers.
