Can I just ask how everyone manages money wise when not being able to work.Due to illness before my rupture and having it coiled 30th April ,we like many people just cant manage on my partners wage,we were already struggling before all this happened and unable to pay all our bills. We dont go out dont drink so there is nothing we can cut back on at all most weeks we have approx £30 to spend on shopping. We have got to the point we cant pay our rent on time. Im sure like us there are many struggling .What do you do ?

Hi sandy.

In the same boat. Don't drink or smoke. Socialising has gone. Only luxury is a car but with out it I am stuck.

If anyone has any ideas I would like to know. My wife would be better not working but her sanity would go.

Yes we holiday on the cheap just to get away. The only good thing is our kids are grown up.

Like I said please let us all know.

Pax

Hi sandy, I had a ruptured aneurysm, in January, resulting in a stroke, I have no physical disabilities, and like you all I could get was 88 pounds a week sick pay, I have no other finance coming in and it has been a struggle. I did have hospital insurance which tided me over and good family. I have recently returned to work, not because I was ready but needed to financially, I have just applied for PIP to see if I can reduce my hours, as it is a struggle, don't know how they expect us to run a house on this as well as recovering, hope you can get some help love Alice xx

Hi we're equally in a difficult financial situation (I work FT and BI hubby is home with the kids) we've been advised to Ger a benefit check - ours is done by CAB but in some areas it is done by the council. My understanding is that they look at everything you have coming in and going out and look at every benefit available and check you eligibility. The worst thing to do is what I did and use credit cards to buy food etc.... hoping they will help sort my mess out they may help so please ask - it's taken us nearly 9 years to find help as no one ever told us it was available. Good luck x
