Struggling to tell my story a small bit but here it goes .

I had a head injury last year and spent a few months in hospital and all that .

First thing I wanted to do was put this experience behind me , so after a few months got a new job .

Great im back working and getting fit at last it's behind me ,my brain injury .. I beat it I'm normal again . I couldn't understand why I was tired all the time but keep going I didn't want to complain,I just put it down to being off work for so long .

Anyway I got sacked . Iv never been sacked in my life , I didn't really care at the time because I was working and new I'd get another job easily , I put the tiredness down to traveling .

Second job I got was nearer me and less demanding , but omg did I struggled the tiredness was unbelievable . I left that job the tiredness was to much .

I'm 45 never been sacked and never walked out on a job. Done both in a few months .

Now I feel like what's next ? Because there will be something else I feel it but don't no what it is .

My whole life is up side down right now and I'm struggling .

That's a little about me .

Hi Pat, sorry for 'nit-picking' but what were your brain injuries, and did you have surgery. I ask because I'm wondering whether you should have gone back to work so soon, or at all ? x

Hello and welcome to this wonderful forum where everyone can understand even just a little bit of what you're going through.

My husband suffered a brain injury last year and it's turned our lives and our children's lives upside down. Hubby isn't back arty work yet and I'm worried to say the least about when he does. . Fatigue is a major issue as well and accepting new limitations is a bitter but essential pill to swallow.

Everyone here is lovely and always here to listen welcome aboard :) xx

Hi and welcome, I'm pleased to hear about your getting back to work despite the other issues. You at lesst gave it a try so well done. You sound like me. I was determined to get back to work to my job that I love but it's been one long struggle with numerous big errors on my part and not the greatest of understanding from some colleagues while others have been fantastic. It's very demoralising and confusing if not frightening to find yourself wondering 'what the heck am I even doing? In a job you were previously good at. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job. That's really tough on you when you've been brave enough to go back. Well perhaps it's time for a change of direction ? It's hard to let go of what you know isn't it? You probably think you'd rather be doing somethng you're confident with? But when trying to manage the side effects of brain injury - it's not that simple. I echo what's already been said. Go to Remploy and ring Headway, but first take a trip to your GP and maybe think about applying for PIP while you get a bit more well? You're allied to revieve PIP even if you are working, so it might just help take the pressure off a bit while you recover a bit more? You shouldn't have to struggle on like this with no support so call Headway and see what they suggest. Wishing you a better day tomorrow x
