Life's curveballs ...

Hi Folks, I'm a long-term Post-Consussion Syndrome type following a syncope fall in October 2015. Miss my fitness (mostly running around the forest with my pooch), my job (brand new, left in Sept 2016 after an agonising year of unsupportive hell) & my friends (who I've learnt sadly and painfully who is and who really isn't). Still I'm mindful of the fact that ignorance and lack of understanding plays a part in that field too. Struck up a relationship with meditation guru Headspace ... it's a real challenge to overcome the head pain and chase out all those overrunning thoughts but its progress. Referred to Headway by GP who has run out of ideas on how to help. So here I am. It's a lonely place sometimes but this seems like a spirited community, hope I can find some support, advice, share some light with you all.

SNx

Hi there. Welcome to the group! You're not alone as there are a few fellow PCS sufferers on here. There are also some groups on Facebook too which I find useful for keeping up to date with research on the condition.

Sorry to hear that you had to give up your job. I'm struggling along with mine but I'm sure it takes more energy dealing with the issues that come up than doing proper work!

Hi Scribble and welcome. A GP who's aware of Headway is a rarity, so it's encouraging to hear of one, at least, who is.

I hope you'll soon feel at home here and able to talk about yourself and your issues as well as contributing to postings from other members.

And I hope you'll soon learn what an easy-going and supportive bunch we are here ..................... and with an occasional dose of silliness !! ;-) Cat x

Hi and welcome

I love the picture ! Yes, I totally understand every thing you said, like you I struggled with work , lack of understanding, ohh this is a bit awkward, when I struggled at work with fatigue and 'foggy' head'. It was too much and like you it was a new job, which probably did not help. I am sorry you have lost your job"

Take care xx
