I'm 32 soon. My 20's were a blur. What I've experienced of my 30's: so so. Is it head injury, is it my family or is it all and something else...just started listening to a podcast about how being in groups makes people happy😊…

Hi Luke, Jules here

Was wondering how you are... good to hear from you. Hows your day been ?

I find groups of people make me very uncomfortable. its the worst thing for me.

I too ponder the question of what actually makes me happy now. These days its different. I have no major loves, but these days i have dozens and dozens of things i am interested in, that i wasnt before.

Trying to be a 'good' 'nice' human being is my aim every day and i just take it from there. I get joy from that a lot, when i feel i have done something good for someone or some animal.

Do you have any big love in your life, or small interests ?

Regards

Jules

Hi Jules, I'm thinking about going bigger... what I'm talking about is living in a community/living a more communal way that will make me naturally happier😉😊❤️. REAL 'People power'😉😀

Thanks. X

I'm interested in many things. It can drive me mad or make me feel there's so much to look at, which is good.

I love women, good food and drink, good weather, history, football now and again so I think Italy is the place for me😉😄tbc...

Thank you sir, I'm thinking about going big and getting involved with a cohouse or some kind of communal community. Sort of picking up where I left off pre accident😉😊❤️

Good idea matey.

In my opinion, that's one of the questions I've struggled with most since I had my injury 6 years ago. Is this it? Is this all I've got left? Its hard to open up on sites like this but I guess the anonymity of it all helps... I think if you can talk to people suffering with the same problems who understand then spaces like this can be really positive.

Yes, I think groups help as long as they're right for the person.

Hi Luke,

By sharing experiences will always have a positive effect and talking about things is therapeutic!

I feel so much better when I discuss how I am feeling but try and stay confident when doing this.

I now put on happy and positive posts on my instragram to help others. I also do talks across the country sharing my experiences, this keeps me happy! Glad you are too !

Inter-connectedness is something that is built in to our make up - at the subatomic level - so it pervades everything and is one very fundamental reason why we should all try much harder to be nice to each other, as we are all essentially part of the same one.

So it isn't surprising that we feel best in community; Our vocabulary shows how important that is - we need to have or hold things in common, we come together in prayer for an act of communion, and when you commune with another, or live in a commune it is a deep sharing. Communication or a sharing of thought is of course key.

There are communities where you can go and stay/help out in this country Luke. Many Franciscan communities welcome people on a long-stay basis - and you might find their ecological bent satisfying too. Check them out (you don't have to robe or be a Christian to go along - they just like you to share their overarching values)

Best wishes x
