The Brain Damaged Baron And Memory'
I didn't think I'd be first today. Had to order a ticket for No2 son to go see Black Sabbath, nightmare when you've got all your marbles, missed the standing tickets but managed to get a seat. Then had to wallow in a bath to help recover!
Good work Andy xxx Janet
And STILL, you're first! Surrogate mother, or stalker
Definitely not stalker. I'll settle for surrogate mother, my eldest is 45 this year, so you'd not be the oldest ! X
So glad we don't have gas ! Yep, my life in a nutshell ! I don't have a mobile - I would forget to recharge it, take it with me or leave it somewhere silly ! My life is in my kitchen - fridge notes, chalkboard, wipe clean board. I know in theory I should write shopping lists but forget and go without, coming back with allsorts of other stuff but often not what I wanted, as I get distracted by pretty/cute/interesting things/offers etc.
I recently cleared out my food cupboard and was ashamed about so many similar cans/packets of food out of date, that I had forgotten existed, at the back of the cupboard. I am abstaining from buying such items for a while, 'til remaining stocks are depleted ! x
Yep, all sounds about right to me. And don't even set me off on house keys...
Have just remembered ( ha ha ) - two of the greatest aids I have are the timer plugs for electric fires and the self closing tap my sis got me for Christmas ( press type - it runs for nine seconds then shuts off automatically ). Ed and I both have bad memories. Saved us a lot of money and floods ! Do you have any similar devices you find helpful ?
I've had to get a bright flowery case for my phone so I can find it easier, the lining in my handbag is black so a black phone is a nightmare. Still spent half an hour looking for it before bed last night, it had slipped down between the cushions on the sofa and even when I rang it and could hear it I couldn't pinpoint it!!!!!!!
It was a good job I was on the way to bed, I could then lie down in a darkened room!!!!!

I think most can recognise them selfs, the false positives for people or simply not recognising people at all now, went to the SWLondon Headway ball, seem to be a load of young women who knew my name who I was, did I know their names or even who they where? Not a chance! still if your going to have ask who people are a charity ball for brain injuries isn't a bad place I guess!
As soon as I get a new appointment, I write it in black marker, bang in the middle of my dressing table mirror, so I have to see it when I get up. It comes off easily with nail varnish remover.
Life's just one big muddle the rest of the time ; I recently turned up to an appointment and asked the receptionist to direct me to the 'yellow zone'. They didn't have zones ; I was in the wrong hospital.
Keys, phone, purse, list, specs ................... utter nightmare.
BTW Andy, hope your hat turns up soon ; you'll be needing it in this weather. xx
So do I. Myself and the Baroness are going to try and walk 26 miles tomorrow...
Oh it's tomorrow already ! Aren't we supposed to be sponsoring you for this ??
That was the initial plan, but this is all a bit spur of the moment really. Didn't seem right to beg, particularly as we might pull up before 26...
Hardly begging is it ? Anyway, hope you get to where you're headed without too much hobbling & gritting of teeth.
It's supposed to be clearing up a bit tomorrow, so maybe not a problem if your hat's still missing.
Good luck...................have fun. xx
How'd it go today ? xx
A lovely video. Shame you couldn't find your hat.
I have a really big 'To Do' list, for work, listing everything I have to do. It is about 10 A4 pages long!
I used to cope without To Do lists, and shopping lists, etc. before my accident, but now I *have* to record everything - if I haven't written it down, there is no way I'll remember it!
