He'll do for now :).

My dad is going to smooth the stick with sandpaper and oil it I think.

He was thinking that the wood might be rotting but thankfully it is not :).

OK, I might suggest that and see what he thinks.

Tyrone was a name that came from the top of my head but I have just thought of a better, well made name instead.

Edward or Ed-wood :).

Really though, any name that takes your fancy would suffice. I expect you call the stick "oi" haha.

Just to say welcome Tyrone to the extended family that is Headway.

Lovenhugs to you and Matt and may you have many happy years together.

Well, I have a brain injury which clearly affects my ED and my walking balance. And I jave recently found a stick made of WOOD. So I guess I was thinking that Ed-wood was a great and very fitting, name :).

Bad puns are cool.

There is a guy I know through my Headway group who is terrible at giving out puns but it's light hearted comedy though, I like it and I think most of the group does.

I sometimes wish I could say puns like he can but for me I have to think long and hard about them, his just come out so fluently.

Our group was in a discussion with the course leader and she mentioned 'rugby' for some reason and the next thing I know he suddenly says "At least you tried" haha.

Hi Matt

Ahhh! The famous Gandolph impersonator in person. No silver tip to the cane yet?

Have to say it won't go with your 70's glam garb or your northern soul, or disco diva gear either come to that.

Still sums you up... always going out on a 'limb'. Branching out into orthotics (think thats the word sure I'll be reprimanded if wrong). Hope you've twigged the puns or am I barking up the wrong tree here?

Go on, say 'leaf' it out son that's not 'berry' funny.

I'm boring myself now.

Just can't wait to see the side by side pic.

Hi Geoff,

First things first, it's Gandalf not Gandolph. A lot of people make that mistake :).

It makes me think "Is it Gandalf Garnett or is it Gandolph Lundgren?" :).

But anyway, Gandalf was one of the characters I was thinking of when I started using the stick.

"YOU.. SHALL NOT... PASS!!"

No silver tip yet but I went out walking today and I used a 'proper' walking stick, that I have named Dave.

Anyway, this cane has a silver tip on it. I found out that it used to belong to my great aunty too. I never met my great aunty because I was either very young or I wasn't born at the time. So I feel kind of honoured to be using it. It is a proper antique and I got a comment on it while I was out too :).

I was saying to my mum that the cane was a little bit short for me, not too short but it could do with a skull on the top end :). It could be my pimp cane haha.

Ha, yes you could say I am always going out on a limb. The driftwood I found could have been the limb of a tree as well.

I think you are 'barking' up the wrong tree or have you just not got to the 'root' of the problem yet?

I would prefer to say "Leave me alone" instead. That would then sum me up to a 'tree'... I mean T :).

I can be a bit 'nuts' sometimes :).

Take care.

Oak K, Ivy started a thorny thread of puns that I guess a lot my not cotton on to.

Must be about time to weed out these punners before they put out runners and invade the flowers, sorry followers of this string. Bean trying to think of more but feeling a little bushed now ;-)

Oh dear take care

You are a lot better than I at making puns.

Anyway, you don't want to overdo it, people might then think you were barking mad :).

No I'm just a bit of a sap if that doesn't go against the grain. As long as I don't get told to get knotted otherwise I might pine away. Then it will be Ash toto Ash in my log book.

Maple you're pulling your hair out now ;-)

I'm glad you like them but like I was saying before, it takes time to think them up.

I must be a wizard at jokes. Hardly. But after saying the stick made me feel like I was Gandalf the grey from the Lord of the rings films, who I shall add is a wizard, I guess I am not far off :).
