Such true words and ones which all of us will recognise and understand. There are moments of sheer joy now, perfect calm and pride in small achievements but they are very rare and need to be treaured. They say that what doesnt kill you makes you stronger and it is true. Life is fragile, even for those who have no BI. Disabled is a word, not a label and it is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Lovely way to express what the survival is like. I'm just beginning to think of that as the first part of the journey and now I've registered with a volunteer agency because I can do things and I want to be useful.

'I AM SO GRATEFUL TO ALL THOSE FAMILY, FRIENDS, COLLEAUGES, & (of course!) HEADWAY, who have supported, helped and guided me through this arduous journey/battle/marathon, to where I am now! Not back to where I was, but happy with my self & in a much better place than I have been! '
