Hi everyone, does anyone know if there is a better company to deal with for car insurance if you've suffered a brain injury?

Car insurance
I just use a normal one, but then DVLA returned my license with no restrictions.
I'm the same roger after I opted voluntarily to do an assessment, I was asked when applying for insurance some time after if I had anything medical to report, fortunately my other health issues are not notifiable so I chose not to mention my brain injury either on the basis I'd done an assessment as requested by the DVLA, passed it, had my license returned with no restrictions at all so effectively on paper I consider myself no different now in terms of my driving ability.
Hi trelfy1,
Thanks for your post.
As long as the DVLA says you are fit to drive and you have a valid licence, car insurance companies should all offer you cover at the same price and terms as if you didn't have a brain injury.
Are there any specific concerns you have, or problems you are experiencing?
There are some issues that could cause problems - for instance people with communication problems might struggle if call centre staff haven't had proper training, or if companies don't offer cover for any adaptations to the car.
If there are any particular issues that are preventing you getting cover do get in touch with our helpline to talk it through (0808 800 2244 or helpline@headway.org.uk). We don't have a list of car insurance companies at Headway but we'll be able to guide you in finding one to suit your needs.
Best wishes,
Headway
