So do we e mail you matt ? That's an e mail address isn't it?
Yep agree with Karen that appears to be an email address, just searched google and it diidn't come up with any thing
Matt if you go to the home page on your blog and then copy and paste the url from the address bar at the top of the page (the whole things starting with http) that should provide us with the link to your blog. If you can't figure it out (my instructions can be as clear as mud sometimes) feel free to pm the name of your blog and I will try to locate it
Matt where is your blog hosted? Is it your blog name at blogspot for example?
The link here seems to be a google plus share and the format seems very strange for a blog. For example the pictures are way too big - most blog platforms will normally auto adjust your photos to the correct size - there are no sidebars and the top navigation did not work and so I could not find a way to get out of the intro to see anything else on your blog.
Slightly confuddled... what is the name of your blog? I will search for it and see if what I find is any different to the link result...
Like I said before, I have not ever created a blog before.
I'm using Blogger as you said that was easier to use. My name on there is brokenartybloke and in the photos section of my profile is where I have uploaded my drawings. I copied and pasted the url from my profile page and posted it here but it seems to have not worked correctly :(.
I tried searching for you by username but got nothing...
A couple of basic questions to try to help sort this out... (been there, done that so may as well be an example of what not to do )
did you name your blog or is it also called brokenartybloke?
Did you set your blog to public?
Have you actually hit publish after your posts?
I think I have sorted it out now.
The thing was, when I decided to showcase my art ob Blogger, I went straight on their, 'brokenartybloke' is the email and I set up my profile, uploaded the pictures and assumed that was the blog done and dusted so then I assumed the my email 'brokenartybloke' was the link to the blog but it isn't.
The thing I did not look into clearly is that there is much more to it than just my profile with uploaded pictures. I had to post a blog first haha. My blog is called 'Eugene's art' and the link is powdered-toast-man2584.blog...
All the drawings there are my older drawings, I will add more :).
yep its sorted now...and I can see it YAY!!!!
may I suggest that as you go on with this blog, you put the pics up in small groups of one or two rather than so many at once because it makes it far easier on the casual blog visitor (especially people like lazy old me )
Perhaps you could add some of your Matt banter along with them so its not just pictures and one line...but more a way for people to get to know you, your creative ideas and processes as well as seeing the finished art work.
Blog readers tend to be a bit like us with a BI in that they are generally happier when things are presented in short bursts of well spaced information with images that they can look at in a few minutes and they love banter...They generally want to learn something or be entertained or both...
I reckon you can provide all of that...you just need to get the hang of the whole blog stuff first (of course the minute you think you have it sussed they will do an upgrade or something will change and you will feel like a ninny again while you figure it out....but you will be in excellent company...mine! ) and then you find your blogger voice and there'll be no stopping you
This is a great start...well done you for taking this step...
Thanks for that iforget and thanks very much for the blogging tips too :). I shall try to minimalist the amount of drawings :).
People like images...just a few at a time and some info about them along with them... nothing to stop you posting them in groups each day...
and perhaps when do update the blog with new info you can add to the thread so we know to go look.
I couldn't find a subscribe button on your blog but I think that is a widget and although it is simple enough to install it is definitely for another day... I can only do that stuff when I am looking at it and would not be able to help if I do not have the blogger dashboard open in front of me
I am a lazy blogger...If my blogs were house plants they would all have died of neglect
Well done for working it out Matt. They look great, I was going to comment on there for you, but it involves opening an account! So I will comment here instead!
It might be worth editing your first post in this thread and adding the link up there so people can find it easier.
Thanks hedgy :).
it's best to comment here rather than creating an account when you don't really need or want to :).
I'm in awe at what you you've managed to do matt creating that blog thingy that's aside from the great drawings.
i could never do something like that. Youre so clever.
i wrote on your blog but i didn't put the question marks they appeared instead of a smiley face i put! See im hopeless lol!
Thanks very much Karen :).
The blog thingy is a bit weird but I'll get used to it.
So you commented on my blog with a smiley and it came up as question marks. Well that isn't your fault, that is theres for not knowing what smiley faces are :).
Karen you are not hopeless...smiley emoticons cannot be used everywhere and on some sites they come out as random punctuation marks instead of smiley faces... Boo hiss to that...the world needs more and less
Thanks iforget for explaining that but i was a bit done because it spoilt matts blog a bit because it reads a bit strange with the question marks at the end. Never mind.
As you say well keep smiling
