No sleep again :-(

Awake again at stupid o clock, seem to be waking up every 4 hours when pain relief starts to wear off.

Have been getting intense pains in my upper legs, no idea why or what it is, at least codein takes the pain away for a while.

And it takes my mind of the headaches :-)

I find waking up at silly O'clock good now Phil, but unlike U I don't wake up in pain. That can't be good.

As I said I can't suggest anything for the pain, but reading your profile I see U take anti depressants - how U finding them, cos from personal experience I didn't get on with them at all. I now take & have for the last 10 years a mood stabilizer called lamotrogen which controls the ups & downs and I find far far better.

Sorry I can't suggest anything or the pain but hopefully U get that under control soon ;o)

Hi stacem8

I'm on my second lot of anti depressants can't seem to get on with them at all.

First ones made me really nauseous, only just started this second one and think it may be causing the pains in my legs.

Gonna have to go back to gp can't do with being dependant on pain killers especially through the night.

As I said, ask him about a mood stabilizer & if Lamotrogen would be suitable cos it definitely works for me.

I used t get some horrible depressions but lamotrogen keeps me even. Don't get me wrong, if something does go wrong I can still get a downer but it's more of a case of not being able t do anything rather than feeling down

And there is a good chance that the pills pains the pain cos all tablets do have side effects so that might be one of them but I'm no doctor ;o)

Hi, I take lamotrigene for epilepsy and have also found it has stabilized my moods a bit as a welcome side effect although when I slip over the emotional edge it's a big drop! However I'm most certainly better with than without.

Lamotrigene is a POM and not available 'over the counter' so you'd have to see your GP to get it anyway. Your consultant or your GP would be best able to advise you of it's suitabilty for you.

I was saying, I've been taking it for about 10 years & before that I was going into a lot of deep depressions. Some fantastic highs but the lows were too dark.

I wouldn't say I was close to suicide or owt cos luckily I'm not that kind of person, but I really didn't care if I lived or died at times. As it goes I would have been quite happy if a burglar had come in and shot me !!!

Since I've been taking lamotrigine ( du know what, I've been spelling it wrong since I started taking it & never gave it a second thought ;o) but since I started takin it, I can't say I haven't had any lows cos I have, I still get them now.

Feel fantastic at the moment but I over react to the tiniest thing which sends me down, but the difference is U don't feel down as such, U just can't make yourself do anything & just can't rationalise with yourself as t why you're like it or about your future. I know I have a great future ahead of me but during a low U think the exact opposite ;o(

Hmmm, I never knew they were used t control epilepsy either !!!
