it is not unusual to not remember the accident event to this day

To this day all I know is I and my bike was pushed through a brick wall by a lorry and that I woke up after being in a Coma Can't get anymore info from anyone (Parents long gone) only found out last year I had suffered a Life Threatening Brain Injury 50 yrs ago

I CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING AFTER BEING VIOLENTLY SICK AT THE RAILWAY STATION WHEN THE HAEMORRHAGE STARTED. .I CAN'T REMEMBER GETTING HOME, FEEDING MYSELF, WASHING, DOING ANYTHING FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. WHO WAS HERE? HOW DID THEY GET IN? & EVERYTHING ELSE TO DO WITH DAILY LIFE. THERE'S ONLY I FRIEND LEFT WHO AN TELL ME A BIT AS SHE WAS WITH ME WHEN I COLLAPSED BUT SHE NOW LIVES IN CANADA.

I OFTEN WONDER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE AMBULANCE, WHAT DID I LOOOK LIKE, HOW DID I GET INTO IT ETC ETC BUT NONE OF IT'S THERE SO I CAN'T VISUALISE IT AT ALL. I'VE JUST HAD TO LEARN WO LIVE WITH THE FACT THAT I'LL NEVER KNOW.

I THINK IT'S BEST LIKE THAT AS I CAN'T BE SCARED OR UPSET BY IT SO OVER THE YEARS IT'S BEBOME EASIER TO NOT THINK ABOUT WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED. .OTHER PEOPLE CAN ONLY TELL IT FROM THEIR PERSPECTIVE WHICH MAY MEAN WELL BUT MAY NOT HELP YOU.

I was at work, I was in hospital , I was at home and everything was wrong.

I drove people nuts asking same questions building a picture of what happened. I have photos of car, I was taken to the site of the crash, there was bits of my car there, holes in the hedges, evidence of the accident but no memories.

Now I'm glad. I don't want to remember, but I can retell what happened because I was told so many times, I had it read to me in statements and I heard it in court stuff, but is was not emotionally attached at all.

I was on the way to work, and then for the next week or so I have little islands of memory, not always in order.

I was found on the ground in one of the Royal Parks found by a kind man who called the Ambulance, as to why?

It was a straight bit of park, and I wasn't travelling fast (have GPS ) no one else around I assume that I made a mistake and lost control as I can't think of any other reasonable ideas, there are deer their but the grass is low at that point, too low to hide them.

In other words I'll never really know, and early on that did frustrate but frankly it doesn't matter.

I was feeling poorly again, when hubby came home from work he knew I wasn't right , so he called ambulance , that was the last thing I remember Oct 30 th 2012 . Next I came with it in Kings College Hospital Jan 13 . Don't remember a thing !!!!!! Apparently I had pneumonia that went to brain causing brain abscesses , now got a shunt in for drainage , but have had 2 seizures in this time . I am hopefully on the road to being me again .I have been seizure free since Feb 13 and have now applied for my driving licence back .
