It affects us all differently, I love the hot weather, the air pressure is more settled so my balance improves, it's still not good, but better. Also I find it hard to keep warm in the colder weather, extra clothing just irritates my skin, but I know how difficult it can be to cool down if it gets too hot, just can't win !!!

I've had awful overheating problems since the sah, even in the winter. I have to sleep beside an 18" fan otherwise I end up wandering around unable to sleep. I'm sitting in front of the fan right now and it's 24 degrees.

That is just how I am don't know if it is because of my asthma / sleep apnea but I can sleep for England

why not get checked out with your GP

Hi Richey,

Many people do report issues with temperature regulation after a brain injury. This can also certainly cause tiredness/lethargy which may explain the change in the amount you sleep. One possible cause is a hormonal imbalance due to your injury - your GP may be able to test for this so I would suggest making an appointment to discuss it.

Best wishes,

Headway

Since my wifes SAH in 2000 she seems unable to dress for the weather , I have to keep an eye on her body temp and liquid intake .

The hotter it is the better I feel personally

I HATE, HATE, HATE THIS WEATHER. SUNLIGHT PLAYS HELL WITH MY EPILEPSY & I JUST CAN'T TOLERATE THE HEAT LIKE I USED TO BEFORE THE BI. I JUST CAN'T COOL DOWN. I USED TO TRAVEL EXTENSIVELY IN THE FAR EAST, AUSTRALIA & ALL PLACES TO THE RIGHT OF THE UK! THE HEAT DIDN'T BOTHER ME AT ALL BUT CAN'T STAND IT NOW. MY BODY SEEMS TO FIND IT REALLY DIFFICULT TO REGULATE IT'S TEMPERATURE SINCE THE BI.
