My love story! 1 worn out woman, 1 House, 4 sons and a hubby with a brain injury.....

I have been advised (after 4 years in oblivion) to join headway. I then come across this site and after looking through the blogs I decided maybe this is the way to get my frustration out..... without anyone getting a poke to the eye.

I also thought I would tell our story from the start, pre brain injury to now. I will tell you our struggles, triumphs, heartaches and happy times.

It's not all bad..... Through the endless operations and personality changes I have a fella that still adores me the way he did before and we have 4 beautiful sons.

No scrap that... I have a fella that answers the door to the postman naked and 4 boisterous boys that just get encouragement off their father.

For today I will just tell you a bit about us.

I'm Dee. I am 28 and a FT carer and full time mum.

My fella Ryan is 25 (yes my toy boy) he was a doorman and was the victim of an assault in 2009 leaving him with various injuries including a bleed to the brain.

Myself and Ryan lived round the corner from each other when we were kids until I moved into my own home when I was 16. I then went on to have my son Aaron when I was 18. My relationship lasted 8 years before we split up. I then ran the local pub and Ryan was a friend of a friend that used to come in regularly and that is how we met up again.

With Ryan I have had 3 more sons. Ryan Jnr aged 3 who was born 4 months after the assault. Reggie who is 2 and Cooper who is 1 in 6 days.

So that's us and due to the fact Cooper is a nightmare and still not sleeping through I am one handing it while trying to feed ten tonne tessa on my knee so I will leave it for tonight and come back tomorrow to start our story.

The fateful night is not one to be missed and includes a shopping trolley ;)

Hello, Dee. Welcome to Headway.

I am a TBI survivor, but I always think my injury must have been far harder for my poor husband. Hey, being in a coma is easy, but having a young baby, and a toddler, and a wife in a coma... eek! So please, tell us your story. I want to know about the shopping trolley!
