Hi. Been taking 10mg carbimazole and bloods went up not down. Could antibodies be responsible?

TSH <0.001

T4. Sept 26.0 Oct 42.0

Range for T4 10-24

T3 Sept 12.7 Oct 28.7

Range for T3 2.0-6.0

No antibodies test done.

Thanks for looking and your advice 😊

Antibodies are a result of the Graves not the cause.

Presumably your symptoms are worse too?

You were recommended a higher dose of 30mg, did your doctor lower the dose or did you self reduce as you felt it was causing symptoms?

I think you need to consider following the doctors advice. There are no natural alternative known to work. Some remedy’s are said to temporarily help reduce symptoms but it’s anti thyroid medication you need now to get you levels to safe range.

Taking the same dose at consistent times it important. Splitting the dose ie 15mg -2x per day might be beneficial too.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I had been asked to do 10mg by the GP as I had been on 15 and the numbers were coming down

So it’s back to 15mg again. Thank you
