After 15 mths gluten free......I've been taking adcal-d3 and today after seeing my doctor to talk about my blood results, I have my bloods done every three months.......my calcium and d3.......at last are in the normal range in fact the d3 was 80..... Not bad when you think it was 31 when I first had it tested......
For the first time in five years I feel normal.......no aches pains, swollen joints, fuzzy head....cramps, sickness.......gluten free rules......got some funny looks when I did a happy dance in the car park.......
Thanks Janie - always good to hear a good GF story! And nice to hear that doctors do do regular check ups. So many people here haven't chased their Doctors for check ups but as you've proved it can make a big difference!
What a terrific story of good hope! For what it is worth, tomorrow will be my last day on Dapsone after five weeks of treatment and near-complete erasure of HD (some itchiness of the scalp remains, but it is minor). To be sure, I have also been GF for most of that time, as well. I am very excited to be embarking on this next step, but also wary of slips and accidents. If anyone has any advice to follow to ensure post-Dapsone good health free of lesions, do send it along. I gather from other members that it is best to stay away from Iodine at first; I have decided to stop eating oats for now; I have read that it is best not to use NSAIDs for pain, if ever needed.
When I get glutened my rash on my face comes back........I have two bright red patches on my cheeks....I tell you they seem to glow in daylight.......they take about three weeks to calm down and fade.....thank god for cover up or I would never go out....lol
