We've asked Coeliac UK twice exactly how a company qualifies for their new GF accreditation programme and what checks are in place to monitor they are GF and are awaiting detailed answers.
Obviously any 3rd party accreditation needs to be transparent so coeliacs can have trust in it.
What assurance gluten free programmes do you wish existed in the UK to help maintain your health?

I simply do not trust any take away outlets that employ part time workers and also cook gluten containing food. Just my take on it.
Hi Fiona, thanks for pointing this out and I think that many members of GFG will be interested.
In Bristol for our Bristol members and visitors there is Pizza Provencale who have been doing a gf pizza option for ages and I have not read a bad review about them, they even do gf pizza delivery, please see:
As for Gluten free assurance programs this North American group has already expanded to the EU. I do fear that they are more geared up to big food chains so would be too expensive for small independent establishments. But what I love about GIG's certification program is the establishment has a large window sticker with GF and ''certified gluten free'' on it so that a coeliac can go in and order without the hassle of having to explain, what I also like about GIG is they have 10ppm as gf and they do regular spot checks.
I for one would love to see this program rolled out across the UK and I know that they have been in talks with Coeliac UK as I am an avid supporter of GIG.
