I am considering trying to make my own Gluten Free bread. Being a complete newcomer to GF, I am utterly lost and would appreciate any guidance offered.
I imagine I will need a bread making machine of some sort, but can anyone offer up some recommendations for suitable machines please?
Any other hints and tips would be great.
Cheers,
Rob

I have a machine that has a gluten free bread cycle. The book that comes with it has several recipes. There are several on the market here in Canada. I have the Cuisinart Convection Bread Maker CBK-200C
I've only got limited experience of trying to making gluten free bread in my Panasonic SD253 breadmaker but I'd probably second what hilly2 says. It makes great "normal" bread but every gluten free loaf I've made so far has been disappointing.
I've only tried Doves Farm flour on its gluten free program, as although the book has recipes for Juvela, Trufree, Schar & Glutafin I can't get any of those. Doves Farm flours seem to work really well in every other recipe I've tried so I don't believe the problem is with the flour.
I have been considering buying a breadmaker and from the articles I have read and reviews I would only every consider a Panasonic one. On the gadget show they said that it was as good at baking bread as a master baker and gave it a high score
I have a dusty breadmaker due to never managing to make a decent GF loaf (normal bread...great) I do make a tray loaf with the addition of onions/sundried tomatoes/garlic/ cheese which is really nice but not much use for sandwiches
I have a budget breadmaker(CLATRONIC), cost 50€ and I do feel that by hand the bread is better but mine does not have a gluten free program. I think it was a good investment and plan to keep it for a while because the practical aspects are precious as opposed to making it by hand: time, less stuff to wash, never fails,... I am even considering eventually investing in a Panasonic seeing I use it a lot and don´t foresee that changing.
gfmum1: I usually use Dove´s farm and get good results(I like the brown bread better) but Schar flour is a very different bread, more like "normal" bread but it costs twice as much.
