Hi I have been gf since beginning of June but am still having pain just under my sternum and across to right side of abdomen. I don't really feel any better since being gf and am still really weepy at times. Anymore advice you can give me?

have you had your gallbladder checked?
I had an ultrasound and ct scan and both showed no abnormality.

Are you being strictly GF? e.g. separate butter/ toaster for you? Have you thrown out bread boards/ chopping boards and swapped to plastic? Have you raided your cupboard to ensure all stocks, sauces, dips etc you are using are GF? Are you avoiding anything with malt vinegar? or barley malt? Are you making as much of your own good as possible? Are you avoiding foods 'made on a line / factory containing wheat'? Do you also avoid products that say 'no gluten containing ingredients' (these are have legal definition/ level of gluten free so could be contaminating you). If you're confident you are doing all of the above and you have had scans to check for other causes then it's worth seeing your doctor again to discuss it. For example a hiatus hernia can cause problems, if you are a woman then gyny problems can cause abdo pain. Try to eat plainly initially - to make your life easier - lots of fruit and veg and control and enjoy what you can have. Another area you may consider with your doctor is whether fructose / lactose intolerance breath testing is needed? It maybe unlikely if you're not having any bowel problems or issues eating those foods.
I do have a small hiatus hernia but it I suppose it could be that and also because I have been told to lay off the gaviscon which I usually eat like sweets!
I am being really strict and am having lactofree milk/yogurts/etc. I usually make all our own food and am on plain simple stuff at the moment. I am finding this really frustrating cos I am a bit of a control freak!

None of us can control our body - only support it - whether we have bad genes or faulty parts.
