Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked previously but has anyone got a recipe I can use to make a decent GF loaf of bread in a breadmaker, or point me in the direction of somewhere to find recipes?

Hi Karen, firstly if you use a bread maker for gf bread you must use the gf setting, or the quick setting. This is because a bread maker lets the dough rise and then knocks it back and then lets it rise a 2nd time (so there are not so many holes because of air bubbles) Gluten free bread does not rise a 2nd time so you do not want to knock it back hence the gf setting.
I make my own bread and cakes and I do not get flour or food on prescription so I only use commercially available products but I do not use a bread maker and I actually like making bread the most so here's my recipe and other recipes with pictures of the end result:

What I would do in the first instance is go to the supermarket and buy some Doves Farm gluten free bread flour, this has a bread recipe on the pack and contains xanthan gum (which replicates gluten) and buy some quick acting yeast and all you will need to do is add eggs, sugar and water. I add about 100ml of boiling water to a tea spoon of sugar and then top up with cold water and then add the yeast, because yeast is living and cold water kills it as does boiling water.
As for cakes egg white replicates gluten really well so traditional recipes like a sponge cake are easy peasy.
Lastly good luck with your baking and you ask what you want.

I think perhaps in 4yrs things have progressed somewhat?? I make my GF bread on a fastbake programme getting a lovely light well risen loaf in less than an hour compared to nearly 3hrs on the GF programme for the same result
Thanks Jerry,
That sounds really easy, I will try that at the weekend. I did pick up some GF flour and Xanthum Gum. I want to try and make some really tasty things to get my girls off Gluten. Need to entice them somehow lol.

Here's some great blogs with GF recipes too:
I found I produce a tall delicous GF loaf of bread when my wet ingredients are at room temp. I bought gluten free baked goods book that has great recipes, have fun and enjoy
The best bread recipes for bread that I have found come from Carla - glutenfreerecipebox.com/. I prefer to make gluten-free bread without my breadmaker, but Carla has recipes for both using one and not.
Hi check your instruction booklet to see if bread maker has GF programme and recipe.
Mine is a old bread maker and recommends certain flour manufacture I followed the recipe using another flour brand ,well you could have broke windows😩
Good luck
