Phone the airline that you are going with. I haven't been to Turkey but have been to lots of other places and with a doctors letter I've always been able to take a large box of GF goodies with me in addition to my normal baggage allowance. I don't like the thought of spending my holiday finding a supermarket with GF food. Do phone the airline and not your travel operator though....the travel operators don't always know and tell you a load of rubbish. Have fun x

Just a thought...go onto celiactravel.com and download their restaurant cards. When you go out to eat, you can then give one to the waiter to attach to your order to go to the chef. I even keep an english version in my purse for use over here.

Hi, I have been to turkey several times and have taken my own bread, biscuits etc in my hand luggage and case, it has never been a problem. I also downloaded the cards to explain my condition when visiting restaurants and they have been absolutely fabulous. To be honest whatever country I have visited I have never had any problems. Enjoy your holiday.

I went to Cyprus earlier this year and took bread, cereals and snacks. The supermarket there had a good choice of gf so I need not have worried.

Weee, they haven't spelt coeliacs wrong...it's the American way of spelling it

I take a good supply of crispbread etc and often find hotels actually have the GF bread available.

Some chain hotels have a fridge full of food in the buffet restaurants anyways,

which they will cook for yu willingly
